| History
Far Northwest Caregivers was established in 1986 as a result of
requests by older adults in the far northwest Austin, Texas area
for senior transportation and other services not available in the
area. Following a model of other inter-faith Caregiver groups, Far
Northwest Caregivers began with help from local congregations, neighborhood
organizations and volunteers. We are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit
organization.
Purpose
Far Northwest Caregivers is a coalition of congregations and community
groups whose mission is to help seniors to live independently.

services are provided at no charge.
The
neighborhoods we serve
As our name suggests, we serve a large area of the far northwest
Austin area along the 183 corridor from the Arboretum (off the corner
of Hwy 183/Loop 360), going north along 183 continuing through Cedar
Park, and up to the northern edge of Leander.

Service
Area
Our senior clients live within the following area:
Southern border: FM 222 and Loop 360
Western border: RM 620 and approximately 2 miles west of Hwy. 183
Northern border: FM 2243 in Leander
Eastern border: Mopac and Parmer Lane and approximately 2 miles east
of Hwy 183. |
