Our History:
Far Northwest Caregivers was established in 1986 as a result of requests by older adults in the far northwest Austin, Texas area for senior transportation and other services not available in the area. Following a model of other inter-faith "Caregiver" groups, Far Northwest Caregivers began with help from local churches, neighborhood organizations and volunteers. We are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Our Purpose:
Far Northwest Caregivers is a coalition of congregations and community groups with the goal of offering volunteer services to older adults who live in the neighborhoods of far northwest Austin, Cedar Park & Leander.

Our goal is to provide services to help our local elderly maintain and improve their quality of life. With the assistance of volunteer "caregivers", our senior clients can maximize their ability to meet their own needs and continue to live independently--in their own homes--thereby preventing premature institutionalization.

Our Services Include:
- Transportation
- Senior Day Out
- Friendly Visitors
- Telephone Reassurance & Friends ("Care-Ringers")
- Medical Equipment Loan Closet
- Information & Referral

All our services are provided at no cost to our senior clientele.
All the services are provided almost exclusively by volunteers.
Donations to our group are welcome and greatly appreciated.
